The trail travels around the West end of the lake from between the two shores. The trail is a relatively mild trail good from beginners to experienced. There are some decent ascents up rocky hills that are difficult due to the softball size rocks. The trail is not necessarily a trail you would travel to ride, but if you are in the area and want to get 10 miles in (out and back), it worth hitting up. Be careful of the sand in various corners that will grab a wheel and have its way. LCRA charges $4 per person entry fee.
Trail can be accessed from either the north or south shore locations. <br /><br /><br /><br />North Shore - From Hwy 71 in Bastrop take Hwy 95 to FM1441 (approximately 5 miles). Two miles down 1441 on the right.<br /><br /><br /><br />South Shore - From Hwy 71 in Bastrop, take Hwy 95 to 21 East. Go appr. 2 miles to South Shore drive and take a left. Follow South Shore to the lake.
